Bees, Wasps, & Hornets

Angry Colonies and Their Painful Stings: Watch out when animal colonies get disturbed! They can get super mad and sting if you get too close. Ouch! The stings hurt, but luckily they usually go away after a while. But a single sting can be serious for some people with allergies who need medical help.

Woodpeckers

Squirrels: Not Just Fluffy Tails: Squirrels might be adorable, but they can be just as troublesome as rats! They love to chew at the edges of roofs to sneak inside homes. Sneaky little rascals!

Squirrels

Squirrels might be cuter than rats but are every bit as much of a menace. They generally chew at the breather space along the edges of the roofline to gain entrance.

Bats

Bats and Their Toxic Waste: Beware of bats and their yucky waste! It smells awful and can be harmful. They can even chew through wood and screens near vents. Talk about being acidic!

Snakes

Snakes on a House Adventure: Sometimes, snakes decide to explore our homes. They are probably following the scent of food. If you find a snake inside, don't panic! First, ensure you don't have any rodent problems attracting them.

Raccoons

Raccoons have very sharp claws and teeth and can rip through almost anything. Females have learned they like to come inside where it is warm to have their pups.

Woodpeckers

Loud Woodpeckers will wake you up in the early morning and leave permanent damage to your home.

Woodpeckers seem to have a taste for natural or stained wood surfaces over painted ones. They particularly target newer houses in an area. The woodpeckers find rustic-looking, channeled plywood with cedar or redwood veneers extra appealing. These plywood sheets have vertical grooves that expose inter-core plywood layers, which might attract insects. The woodpeckers sometimes break these layers, creating narrow horizontal damage patterns in their quest for insects.

THE CROCODILE DAVE SOLUTION

ENTRY: There are three significant ways a squirrel may get into an attic, the breather space, roof vents, and the A-Frame. Almost 90% of the time, it is the breather space, but the longer they are there, the more holes they will make in different areas so as not to get sealed out. Squirrels can be very creative in where they decide to put holes.

DAMAGE: Squirrels are always chewing on something because their teeth constantly grow, and if they don't file them down, they will grow over their bottom jaw. A squirrel's teeth can grow up to 6 inches a year. They will chew attic joists, trim boards, and sometimes wiring. The main reason they chew wiring is when it is freezing, they feel that the wires are slightly warm, and they try to chew a piece to take back to the nest and sleep on to stay warm. Once they get through the plastic coating, they get shocked. Sometimes this will stop them, and sometimes, they will move on to the next until they figure it out.

REMOVAL: For removal, we at Crocodile Dave use a unique one-way tunneling system that effectively removes Squirrels. The Squirrels are allowed to leave through the tunnels but may not return.

PREVENTION: We often seal some of the breather space as well. If the problem has been going on for a long time, there will most likely be several areas that will need to be sealed. Crocodile Dave uses 2 Ply, 23 Gauge Galvanized Steel mesh that cannot be chewed, leaving your home critter free for at least one year, guaranteed, and a yearly option to renew.
