In Georgia, there are two main types of rats: the Norwegian rat and the Roof Rat. The Roof Rat is the one you'll most likely find in houses. They are slender and agile, like little acrobats. They can climb, chew, and squeeze through almost anything. Roof Rats usually live in attics and crawlspaces, and they can multiply quickly because they breed continuously without a specific pattern.

Rats mark their territory with urine and leave trails to guide others. Since they are nocturnal, they are most active at night, so you'll hear them scurrying around during those hours.

ENTRY: To keep rats out, it's crucial to block all possible entry points. Rats can be clever and creative, squeezing through tiny openings. They can get in through breather spaces, rotted wood, small vent openings, or anything they can chew or crawl into.

DAMAGE: When rats infest a place, they cause damage by chewing on wood and wires, leaving droppings in insulation, which can become a breeding ground for bacteria and disease, attracting even more rats.

REMOVAL: Our team at Crocodile Dave's recommends two effective treatments: trapping and tunneling systems. We find that the tunneling system works best. It involves sealing all entryways, including breather spaces and vent openings, to prevent rats from getting in.
